The American Filtration & Separations Society (AFS) blog, called A Filtered Life appears three times a month on the AFS website and covers all filtration related news, information and comment.

Recent blogs have covered subjects such as the state of nanofiltration and information about AFS conferences. The latest blog is entitled Why Are Photometers Used for Air Filter Testing?  Written by guest blogger Tim Johnson, a senior application engineer at Particle Instruments, TSI Incorporated, it covers why photometers are still widely used as detectors for testing air filters, despite the fact they don’t count particles, measure mass or give size resolved (fractional) efficiency results.
