NX Filtration technology used in Greentech pilot in China

GreenTech Environmental which specialises in advanced water treatment and wastewater recycling, and is headquartered in Beijing, has started a pilot programme with NX Filtration’s direct nanofiltration (dNF) membranes for the production of drinking water in the Chinese provinces of JiangSu and Zhejiang.

NX Filtration's technology is being used in a series of pilot projects to treat water from the Llobregat river in Barcelona, Spain to produce drinking water.

GreenTech focuses on engineering, construction, operation management and financing for advanced water treatment and waste-to-resources using membrane technologies. Surface water from rivers and lakes is a vital source for water production in China and the removal of a variety of emerging micropollutants is an increasing challenge. To address this challenge, GreenTech will start a pilot program on surface water treatment with NX Filtration’s dNF technology.

In January 2022, the first pilot project, based on NX Filtration’s fully automated Mexpert pilot system, begins at a drinking water production location in the JiangSu Province. In the course of 2022, a second pilot will be initiated for drinking water production in the Zhejiang province.

Mr. David Wang, senior vice president at GreenTech, explains: “We are very happy to start working with NX Filtration’s direct nanofiltration technology. With the pilot projects we are looking to research the removal efficiency for a variety of organics and emerging micropollutants, such as pharmaceuticals, personal care products and endocrine-disrupting compounds.”
