The R-AQUADYN is a compact rack solution based on the double asymmetric, hydrophilic low fouling PAN hollow fibre membrane modules type UA1060.

One rack unit comprises a set of 24 AQUADYN UA1060 modules with a total membrane area of 1440 m2. The rack units can be manifolded to a bigger rack of either 48 or 96 pieces.

“Adhering to our vision, we refrain from building systems," explains Walter Lamparter, CEO of MICRODYN-NADIR GROUP. "The R-AQUADYN is a set of pre-assembled sets of AQUADYN modules on a stainless steel frame to ease the integration of our modules into a complete system. Connections, pumps, process measuring and control technology will stay part of the system integrator´s job."

“One of the major benefits of the R-AQUADYN is that this plug-and-play solution focuses on the cost optimisation per m3 filtrate produced,” he adds.

The AQUADYN modules are robust and durable and are operated in Out/In mode. The double-asymmetric structure of the hollow fibres effectively rejects bacteria and solids due to a filtration layer inside and outside the hollow fibre, displaying a significant advantage over single asymmetric hollow fibres. Their enhanced hydrophilicity, compared to most of the other polymeric materials, improves their wettability and reduces operating pressure. Moreover, it makes the membrane more resistant to fouling, resulting in less cleaning cycles and reduced chemical usage, the company reports.
