FILTECH 2024: Hengst Filtration presents sustainable and innovative technologies

Under the theme Filtering Forward, Hengst Filtration will be demonstrating at FILTECH 2024 (12–14 November, Hall 7, Stand K13) how products, industrial plants processes can become more efficient and sustainable with the right filters.

“Our filtration solutions are designed to make systems more efficient and sustainable while protecting people and our planet. This is fully in line with our corporate vision of purifying our planet,” says Ulrich Eich, vice president of the Filtration for Industry and Environment business unit at Hengst. “We are confident that we can achieve this with sustainable materials, well-thought-out product designs and innovative production processes. These core aspects of our filtration solutions are combined in our trade fair theme Filtering Forward.’’

Hengst Filtration develops high-quality products to offer its customers tailor-made and efficient filtration solutions. With lower differential pressures in filter elements and systems, energy costs can be reduced. Alternative raw materials such as bio-based plastics reduce the CO2 footprint of products.

The Grünbeck water filters are an example of more sustainable filters due to intelligent production processes. Here, Hengst uses its expertise from its patented Energetic filters in the automotive industry to weld the filter media and end caps directly to each other, thus eliminating the need for adhesives.

Another example is the replaceable filter concept for vacuum cleaners from BSH Hausgeräte GmbH, in which the plastic filter cassette is designed as a high-quality service life component. Only the flat-fold filter, including the seal, is replaced if necessary – this considerably reduces the amount of waste. Resource-saving recyclate is used as the base material for the frame, and the packaging is also FSC-certified.

At FILTECH, Hengst Filtration will be showcasing its most innovative product lines, such as the electrified Blue.ion cabin filter or the filtration solutions for fuel cells. These include, for example, the technology kit Blue.netic for cathode air filtration, which ensures the performance of fuel cells. The modular system can be adapted to different performance requirements and protects against contamination in order to reliably produce high-quality hydrogen.

The Blue.ion is a cabin filter that uses the two technologies of ionisation and polarisation to achieve a consistently high and energy-efficient filtration performance. This provides the best possible protection for vehicle occupants against pollutants, while at the same time requiring little energy and little installation space in the vehicle.

Every application has its own challenges, which can be solved with the right filters and the appropriate know-how. At FILTECH, Hengst Filtration is providing insights into its broad application expertise for the most demanding requirements in indoor environments or industrial applications. The energy-efficient pocket filter variant of the MultiSack G series and the compact high-temperature filter MultiTherm Faden will be on display. The latter is characterized by a very low initial pressure drop and installation depth. In addition to filter elements, Hengst also offers innovative and efficient oil mist separators, dust collector systems and intake air systems.
