G2O Water Technologies, UK-based developer of graphene oxide membrane coatings, has appointed three undergraduate placement students from Teeside University near its North East R&D laboratory.
Teesside University science students are offered the opportunity to work in industry during their third year of study and the university worked with G2O to match students with the specialist skills needed by the company.
Craig Clement, COO at C2O, noted: “We were so impressed with the quality of the students that we decided to employ three. We have placed two in technician roles and one in a market analyst role.”
Helena Driffill-Agar, Michael Cardoso and Mark Parker all joined G2O this summer with a view to returning to Teesside University in September 2020. Helena Driffill Agar, working as a technician at G2O, said: “This placement is a fantastic opportunity for me to enhance my knowledge within water treatment and gain crucial experience within a professional environment.”
Jenyfer Owen, lead work experience officer at Teesside University, said: “We are thrilled that G2O is able to offer this opportunity to three of our students. This will give them invaluable experience of applying their academic knowledge within a practical working environment.”
