Europlasma showcases nanocoatings range

The company displayed its environmentally friendly Nanofics line for use on both gas and liquid filtration media at the Filtrex Asia trade fair in Hong Kong.

They included Nanofics 10 coatings which have a high affinity for water. Europlasma says they can transform any filtration material into one with a permanently hydrophilic surface.

Nanofics 120 coatings are highly water and oil repellent fluoropolymer nanocoatings deposited by low pressure plasma technology.

And Nanofics 110 coatings are also highly water and oil repellent that are completely free from PFOA and PFOS. Europlasma is now developing a new range of water repellent nanocoatings which are completely free from halogens. The company has received funding from IWT, the Flemish government agency for Innovation by Science and Technology, to boost this development.

“Selected customers have started experimenting with these new halogen free coatings with very promising results. Water contact angles of more than 120 degrees can be achieved and they can withstand multiple washes,” said R&D manager Eva Rogge.
