UV Flu Technologies receives order from Puravair

The ViraTech UV-400 from UV Flu Technologies uses high-intensity ultraviolet light (UV-C) to clean air and destroy bacteria. The ViraTech UV-400 draws air in through a killing chamber cartridge where baffles provide the turbulence necessary to bring bacteria in close proximity to the special UVC lamps, allowing the germicidal UV-C to kill any bacteria present. Before exiting, the air stream passes through a gross particulate screen which removes the neutralized dust and debris. The sealed cartridge can be discarded with regular trash after 12 months of continuous operation. This is an advantage over HEPA filter products which trap but do not kill the bacteria, requiring filters to be discarded as red bag waste.

Jack Lennon, president of UV Flu Technologies, said: “We trust that other teaching facilities, at home and abroad, will take note and quickly identify that our product offers a cost effective and easy to implement method to increase the overall safety level of any facility by immediately lessening the risk of airborne bacteria, and one that also limits the spread of noxious odours and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC).”
