The MemPulse MBR equipment from Siemens will be incorporated into the City of Modesto’s Phase 2 biological nutrient removal (BNR)/Tertiary Treatment Project (Phase 2) to meet new state discharge permit requirements. Siemens is teaming with the City of Modesto and Carollo Engineers which has responsibility for the overall BNR solution for the city.
The MemPulse MBR equipment features air scouring technology, which significantly reduces energy consumption by lowering the amount of air required for membrane cleaning. The MemPulse device does not contain any moving parts, decreasing the likelihood of mechanical system failures and making it a desirable simple and efficient solution.
The Phase 2 plant expansion is expected to be operational by early 2016.
