US-based Nxtnano LLC has announced the roll-out of its new nFLUX nanofibre membranes which have double the flux of cast membranes.

Targeted toward the micro-filtration and micro-venting markets, nFLUX is available as a stand-alone membrane or as a laminate on a wide variety of non-woven media and the company says it will deliver a 100% improvement in flux compared to traditional cast membranes.

Andrew McDowell, Nxtnano, LLC’s director of sales, said that micro-filtration and micro-venting applications pose their own set of challenges with a very diverse range of applications. “A big part of what we have been working on is the ability to combine the nFLUX membranes with a wide range of PP, PE, or PET backers in-house.”

The nFLUX nanofibre membranes have a pore size which starts as low as 0.2 microns and can go up to over 10 microns. The company is offering membranes made from Polyvinylidene Difluoride (PVDF) and Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) immediately and Polyethersulfone (PESU) as required for high temperature applications.
