The NW models by Kelvion have a wider plate gap than do those in the NT series, which should allow efficient heat treatment, with only slight pressure drop, of viscous media and of liquids with particle diameters up to 5 mm. In addition, the herringbone plate corrugation, with a gap width of 10 mm, aims to provide a highly turbulent flow at all points of the plate.
The plates should be suitable for applications in sugar production, especially for use with thick juice, syrup, and centrifuge run off. Further application areas are in production of bioethanol, in treatment of industrial wastewater, and in petrochemical processes.
