Hydro International will showcase its range of flood management services at Flood Expo, which takes place on 11-12 September at the NEC in Birmingham.

The company’s Hydro-BrakeFlood and Hydro-BrakeOptimum vortex flow controls have been used worldwide to controls flows in stormwater management and flood prevention schemes, ranging in size from just a few litres per second to large flood alleviation schemes controlling flows in excess of 33 m3/s. Hydro International’s flood services help people, companies and public organisations to understand their current and potential future flood risk, enabling them to mitigate and plan for flood events and minimise or prevent damage and disruption to homes, businesses and infrastructure.

There will be a variety of seminars and Hydro International will have two speakers at the event – Rob Burton, head of Hydrometry for the Hydro-LogicServices team and Karl Hall, regional technical manager. Rob Burton’s seminar presentation is entitled Natural Flood Management – Monitoring Performance and Improving Community Resilience and will explore some of the recent work on DEFRA-funded NFM schemes. Karl Hall’s presentation will describe how a sustainable solution was sought to mitigate the risk of damaging pollutants entering the environment from a household waste recycling site.

Hydro International will be at Stand D46 at Flood Expo.
