Flowrox has launched its industrial water treatment technology, Corona, which turns direct plasma oxidation into an industrial product.

Making its debut at Aquatech Amsterdam this week and one of the finalists for the Aqutech Innovation Award 2019, the Flowrox Corona is an alternative to ozone, UV and chemical treatment.

The Flowrox Corona is an industrial water treatment technology which replaces chemicals with non-thermal plasma in direct contact with water to destroy dissolved organic pollutants. Plasma-generated oxidants effectively remove colour, odour and organic residues while disinfecting the water. The design of the Corona ensures a very large plasma-water contact area and efficient removal of pollutants from water.

Its reactor core tolerates the introduction of difficult wastewaters and requires no air pre-treatment or compressors to produce and deliver the oxidants to the water. The reactor core is made of stainless steel, there are no moving parts and the plasma electrodes are not corroded by the process.

Eliminating the need for the transportation, storage and handling of disinfection chemicals, the Flowrox Corona is safer and more environmentally friendly alternative to ozone, UV and chemical treatment.
