Ecologix installs integrated bioreactor on Russky Island

The Ecologix Integrated Bioreactor (IBR) will help support an estimated 30 000 residents who will attend or work at the island’s new Far Eastern Federal University. With its above ground configuration, the Ecologix IBR simplifies civil preparation of wastewater treatment infrastructure, and can handle up to 2.65 million gallons of wastewater per day.

The wastewater treatment plant is part of the Russian government’s US$6 billion, two-year infrastructure and development project for the island, located off the coast of Vladivostok in the Sea of Japan.

“This installation is the culmination of two years of collaborative project development, working with Russian government officials to deliver a system that offers high performance while operating with a lower environmental footprint,” said Eli Gruber, president and CEO of Ecologix Environmental Systems.
