Eaton presents state-of-the-art technologies for beverage filtration

The Filtration Division of the energy management company Eaton will present state-of-the-art filtration solutions for the entire production process in the beverage industry at drinktec 2022 from September 12 to 16 in Munich, Germany.

In Hall B3 at Booth 238, the filtration experts will show the latest activated carbon solutions such as the depth filter sheets of the BECO CARBON range, and the corresponding stacked disc cartridges BECODISC BC. In addition to the range of activated carbon, those interested can get to know a comprehensive range of technologies for the beverage and food industry at the Eaton booth, including the BECO INTEGRA CART KHF HighFlow system, which has never been presented at a trade fair.

The latest generation of BECO CARBON depth filter sheets offers particularly high adsorption properties for the demanding filtration of beverages. These have integrated the activated carbon directly in the filter and thus save the manual dosing and separation of the otherwise usually loose activated carbon. As a result, the often cumbersome handling of activated carbon can be significantly simplified and accelerated. With their strong decolorization abilities and adsorptive removal of undesired by-products, along with taste, odor and color correction, the BECO CARBON depth filter sheets are ideal for use in the food and beverage industry. They are available in all common sizes and formats. In the ACF 07.10 version, they have an activated carbon content of 420 g/m² (meso/macroporous) and in the ACF 02 version even 1,000 g/m² (macroporous). All depth filter sheets of the BECO CARBON range meet the requirements of Regulation (EG) 1935/2004 and the German LFGB (Food, Commodities and Feed Code) as well as the test criteria of the FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) guidelines according to CFR 21 § 177.

The depth filter sheets can be used, among other things, in the new BECODISC BC stacked disc cartridges. They can be used in a wide variety of stacked disc cartridge housings and filtration systems, including BECO INTEGRA DISC housings and Eaton's manual or fully automatic StepFlow filtration systems.

The BECO INTEGRA CART family also includes the KHF filter cartridge housing. They are made of AISI 316L stainless steel and are ATEX certified. The housings can be installed horizontally or vertically, so that they can also be used with low room heights or in a particularly space-saving manner. In combination with the HighFlow depth filter cartridge BECO PROTECT HF, flow rates of up to 220.14 gpm (50 m³/h) can be achieved on a filter area of 52.7 ft² (4.9 m2). This roughly corresponds to a housing with 18 standard filter cartridges for water applications.

In addition to the activated carbon and filter cartridge portfolio, Eaton will also be providing information on the use of stacked disc cartridges and depth filter sheets as well as bag filters in beverage and food filtration at Booth 238 in Hall B3. In the area of beverage treatment, products for beer stabilization, fruit juice enzymes and for fining wine, juice, spirits and sugar solutions with activated carbon will also be exhibited.
