Atlas Copco buys Walker Filtration

Atlas Copco has acquired Walker Filtration Ltd, the UK manufacturer of equipment for the treatment of compressed air, gas and vacuum.

Family-owned Walker Filtration is headquartered in Washington, near Newcastle, in the northeast of England where it has a 12 000 m² manufacturing plant.

The company, which was founded in 1983, employs around 220 people worldwide and had 2017 revenues of £29 million (SEK330 million). Walker Filtration has sales offices in Europe, USA, Australia and Japan.

“Walker Filtration is a respected company with a strong brand name and product portfolio that will play an important role to increase our presence and competence in the business of equipment for the treatment of compressed air, gas and vacuum,” said Vagner Rego, Atlas Copco’s Compressor Technique Business Area President.

The business, which will continue to operate under the Walker Filtration name and brand, will be part of the Medical Gas division in Atlas Copco’s Compressor Technique business area.
