Idex Corp to acquire Mott Corp in US$1bn deal

Idex Corp has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Mott Corporation and its subsidiaries for cash consideration of US$1 billion.

Mott is a microfiltration business specializing in the design, customization, and manufacturing of sintered porous metal components and engineered solutions used in fluidic applications. Founded in 1959 in Farmington, Connecticut, Mott has approximately 500 employees.

 

Atlas Copco to acquire Italian filter distributor

Easy Filtration SRL, an Italian company that distributes process filters and associated services, is joining Atlas Copco Group.

Milan-based Easy Filtration provides filter cartridges for air, gas and process liquids, filter housings and clean-in-place systems mainly for customers in the industrial coatings, chemical, cosmetics and pharmaceutical sectors. The company was founded in 2013 and has 9 employees.

 

Cleanova expands in US with Sidco Filter and Shawndra Products purchase

Cleanova has acquired Sidco Filter Company and Shawndra Products Inc, two US clean tech filtration companies.

Established in 1997 and headquartered in Manchester, New York, Sidco Filter Company manufactures original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and aftermarket filters for air and gas markets. Shawndra Products Inc, which was founded in 1982 and is headquartered in Lima, New York, provides filter elements. Sidco and Shawndra merged earlier this year to form Sidco Group, prior to the acquisition by Cleanova.

 

Atlas Copco acquires Danish process filtration company

Sweden’s Atlas Copco Group has bought Danmil A/S, a Danish process filtration company serving the pharma and food and beverage sectors.

Established in 1986, Danmil is headquartered and has its manufacturing plant in Greve, Denmark. The company has 26 employees and had 2023 revenues of €11 million.

 

Truelink Capital buys Air Distribution Technologies from Johnson Controls

US private equity firm Truelink Capital has acquired Johnson Controls’ air management and filtration solutions business Air Distribution Technologies.

With over 4,500 employees across more than 25 global locations, Air Distribution Technologies is a key player in the HVAC ecosystem, with brands such as Koch Filter, Titus, Ruskin, Krueger, PennBarry, and Tuttle & Bailey. The company was acquired by Johnson Controls in 2014.

Air Distribution Technologies will now operate as an independent company, with Doug Schuster, the current leader of the division, as CEO.

 

Aquastill acquires SolarSpring’s membrane distillation assets out of liquidation

Aquastill BV in the Netherlands has acquired SolarSpring membrane distillation assets following the insolvency proceedings of SolarSpring GmbH.

The assets acquired by Aquastill consist of the intellectual property (IP), laboratory equipment and selected R&D projects.

SolarSpring’s Rebecca Schwantes and Kirtiraj Chavan will support the transition and stay connected as advisors to Aquastill.

This acquisition underlines Aquastill’s commitment to the further development of membrane distillation as a sustainable thermal desalination technology for both seawater and industrial wastewater. Membrane distillation technology uses waste heat to power the desalination of seawater and industrial wastewater.

The integration of the assets within Aquastill is expected to be completed before 1 October 2024.

 

Flotilla Partners buys Water Treatment Technologies of Florida

Flotilla Partners has acquired Water Treatment Technologies of Florida (WTT), its eighth acquisition since the platform's launch in January 2023.

Founded in 2004 and headquartered near Orlando, WTT provides water treatment services for residential and commercial customers in Central Florida.

The acquisition of WTT bolsters Flotilla's presence in several high growth Florida markets including Orlando, Tampa, and Jacksonville.

 

Donaldson acquires minority stake in Italy’s Medica SpA

Donaldson Company Inc has completed its previously announced acquisition of a 49% ownership stake in Medica SpA for approximately €62 million, excluding transaction-related fees and expenses.

This acquisition supports Donaldson’s strategy of building and expanding the capabilities of its Life Sciences business.

Medica is focused on hollow fiber membrane filtration technology for medical device applications and water purification. Headquartered in Medolla, Italy, the company has over 700 employees globally and generated €80 million of revenue in calendar 2023.

 

Fluidra to acquire Australian filtration systems manufacturer Chadson Engineering

Spanish pool and wellness company Fluidra SA is acquiring Chadson Engineering, am Australian designer and manufacturer of granular and regenerative filtration systems.

Based in Perth, Western Australia and with over 50 years of experience, Chadson manufactures commercial filtration systems for swimming pools, water theme parks, marine parks, aquaculture, and other sectors.

The acquisition complements and enhances Fluidra´s commercial pool and wellness offering across the Asia Pacific region.

 

Nederman acquires Canada’s Duroair Technologies

Nederman has strengthened its Extraction & Filtration Technology (E&FT) division in the US and Canada with the acquisition of the Canadian company Duroair Technologies Inc.

Founded in 2012 and headquartered in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Duroair designs, manufactures and sells climate controlled air filtration mainly for the US and Canada markets. Duroair’s unique and flexible enclosures and filtration systems trap and extract fumes, dust and gases created by coating, grinding, sanding and adhesive bonding processes. The company has a strong position within the defense, aerospace and industrial manufacturing industries Including mitigation of hexavalent chromium.

 

Grundfos completes Culligan C&I acquisition

Grundfos has acquired the Commercial & Industrial (C&I) business of Culligan in Italy, France, and the UK.

The acquisition expands Grundfos’s position within the European water treatment market, bringing a complementary portfolio of solutions and technologies for industrial and commercial needs. The acquired business had a turnover of more than E100 million in 2023 and has around 400 employees.

 

Axius Water acquires Italy's MITA Water Technologies

Axius Water has acquired MITA Water Technologies, a supplier of wastewater filtration systems based in Siziano, Italy.

This acquisition follows a successful partnership between the two companies forged in 2022 to leverage Axius’ US-based manufacturing facility in Columbia, Missouri to become the manufacturing facility for Made-in-America MITA pile cloth filters for North American customers. MITA Water Technologies was formerly part of MITA Group.

With over 50 years of industry expertise, MITA Water Technologies’ products include pile cloth filters, Biorulli for biological wastewater treatment, Biocombi compact plants for small communities, lamella pack systems for clarification and oil removal, continuous sand filters for tertiary treatment, and dissolved air floatation systems for civil wastewater and process water.

 

Wind Point Partners acquires Clean Solutions Group

Wind Point Partners, a Chicago-based private equity firm, has invested in Clean Solutions Group (CSG), a US manufacturer of nonwoven filtration media and cleaning products primarily for commercial, industrial and residential end markets.

Formed in 2014 following the management buyout of Fibrix Filtration, CSG has five manufacturing facilities across the US southeast with over 400 employees.

Wind Point is partnering with CSG management, led by CEO Keith White. Under White’s leadership, CSG saw substantial growth, broadening production capabilities and completing two acquisitions including HDK Industries. Together, Wind Point and CSG intend to expand on this track record with an organic and M&A-driven growth strategy around niche nonwoven manufacturing and the company’s current end markets.

 

Rensa Filtration acquires The Filter Shop

Rensa Filtration has acquired The Filter Shop, a US company with air filter distribution centers and service teams in Omaha, Nebraska, and Des Moines, Iowa.

The Filter Shop will now have access to Rensa Filtration’s full production facilities, engineers, and R&D team.
