Xanofi awarded SBIR Grant Phase I

This funding will help Xanofi build a working prototype for efficiently spraying polymeric nanofibres on commercial roll good production lines.Xanofi says that the SBIR program is a highly competitive programme that encourages small businesses in the USA to engage in federal research/research and development (R/R&D) that has the potential for commercialisation. Through a competitive awards-based program, the SBIR programme enables small businesses to explore their technological potential and provides the incentive to profit from its commercialisation. This grant will allow Xanofi to build an integrated, turnkey commercialised nanofibre spraying system so that the significant value of nanofibres can be more widely applied to the US nonwovens manufacturing sector. Existing technologies apply nanofibres at very slow line speeds as a low basis weight surface coating – the XanoSprayTM system will target normal line speeds with coatings up to 10 grams per square metre.
