The Veolia Discfilter was selected by Black & Veatch, due to its proven track record at other UK sewage treatment works including many of Thames Water’s sites.
The disc filters use a series of 10 micron rotating disc filter elements to remove suspended particulate solids, including biomass flocs and precipitated phosphates, from the sewage works final effluent to meet a 15mg/l TSS standard for compliance with the Urban Waste Water Treatment Regulations. Backwash water, which is typically only 2% of throughput, can be returned to the head of works, and the filters offer low power consumption and minimum maintenance when compared with competitive technologies.
Hydrotech Discfilters are suitable for a range of industries including power generation, food processing, mining, pulp and paper and textiles manufacturing, and can provide expert guidance on your requirements.
