A small pilot system incorporating Teijin’s Multi-stage Activated Biological Process (MSABP) wastewater treatment technology, and Membrane-Tec’s membrane filtration technology, will be tested in Dagang village. Full-scale operation is aimed for early 2011.
The MSABP system uses biological carriers with high concentrations of microorganisms in multi-stage aeration tanks. Organic excess sludge is eliminated as part of a biological food chain created with the system. The technology uses a membrane bioreactor process, which combines membranes and conventional activated-sludge treatment to simultaneously separate solids from liquids while treating the sludg organically to obtain clean water.
