SFT introduces improved supercritical fluid extractor

The model SFT-110 has a redesigned restrictor valve with integrated micrometer which allows for precise flow control. It has a removable oven lid and large side panel allowing the user easy access to the high pressure vessel. An indicator light on the SFT-10 pump module alerts the user to proper operation of the Peltier pre-cooler, ensuring CO2 is maintained in the liquid state. A outlet from the restrictor ensures that users will not accidentally damage the outlet tube when inserting it into the collection container.

Supercritical fluid extraction is an alternative to traditional extraction methods that use organic solvents and fast, efficient extraction of a variety of materials may be achieved using supercritical carbon dioxide, the company says.

The SFT-110 SFE is suitable for both research and process development applications.
