The acquired business, which had sales of around €40 million in 2020, comprises chromatography systems primarily for smaller biomolecules, such as oligonucleotides, peptides and insulin, as well as systems for continuous manufacturing of biologics.
The majority of the approximately 100 employees work at Novasep's Pompey site in eastern France, with others in the USA, China and India.
Novasep and Sartorius Stedim Biotech have been jointly developing optimised systems for a membrane-based chromatography technology since 2018.
