Porvair has signed a three year global supply agreement with aluminium producer Alcoa.
According to Porvair, the Selee-CSX filter has captured over 90% of the North American market and has been adopted or is under trial across the world. The filter won the American Ceramic Society’s Corporate Environmental Achievement award in 2009 for removing phosphates and ceramic fibres from the aluminium filtration process.
Ben Stocks, chief executive of Porvair plc, said they were delighted to have again been chosen as a key supplier to Alcoa, a position they have held for more than 10 years.
“The development team at Selee have done a great job in rolling out the product, and have found several minor product improvements in 2010 that will further enhance the product’s worldwide potential. Selee coped well in extremely difficult trading conditions of 2009, but demand in 2010 has been on a steadily improving trend,” said Stocks.
