Neenah Filtration adds polycarbonate to air filter media

Neenah Filtration has introduced the use of polycarbonate materials to its NeenahPure special series to provide low energy usage for HVAC pleatable and bag filter elements.

The biggest advantages that the use of polycarbonate offers are the very low pressure drop and a high dust holding capacity.

The NeenahPure air filter media series, launched in 2021, is designed for application such as HVAC, air purification, air pollution control but also cabin air.

Many meltblown media available for air filtration applications are made from polypropylene (PP), even though other polymers such as polycarbonate can offer a lot of advantages and can diversify a company’s filter portfolio. The NeenahPure polycarbonate series is specifically developed for ePM10 50-60% (ISO16890) as the company has seen the best results for this efficiency class. The biggest advantage is the very low pressure drop (flat sheet testing: 2Pa @5.3cm/s) along with a high dust holding capacity.
