The Nanotechnology Knowledge Transfer Network, one of the UK’s primary knowledge-based networks for Micro and Nanotechnologies, has announced details of its annual one-day conference which will take place on 27 February 2014, at MediCity, Nottingham.
The event will discuss the latest UK developments in nanofibres, nanocomposites and existing and emerging applications, organised in partnership with Nottingham Trent University.
Nanofibres to Nanocomposites III is the third annual conference which reflects the growing interest in nanofibres to deliver new and innovative nanofibre based products. This event will be of interest to all those who want to learn about the production and use of nanofibres in a wide range of applications and to meet with leading UK experts from different market sectors and academia in the nanofibres and nanocomposites areas. Dr Barry Park, theme manager at the NanoKTN, will introduce the programme which includes a keynote from Nottingham Trent University on ‘The Birth of Nanofibres with Printed Plastic Electronics’, followed by speakers from The Electrospinning Company, Nottingham Trent University, Revolution Fibres, Oxford Biomaterials, Spi3Dr LTD, University College London, and the University of Surrey.
Dr Park said: “Commercial nanofibre based products have now begun to reach the market based on electrospinning and other production methods. Our latest event will provide further insight into the new world of nanofibres and nanocomposite products and applications. We hope the conference will provide a great opportunity for networking for both academics and industry, and to explore collaborative partnerships to encourage further nanofibre commercialisation.”
