Memsift Innovations commercially launches Gosep ultrafiltration membrane

Memsift Innovations in partnership with the Murugappa Group has announced the commercial launch of the Gosep ultrafiltration membrane along with the opening of a cutting-edge membrane manufacturing facility.

The two companies formalized a partnership with an MOU signed in 2023.

Gosep ultrafiltration membranes introduce an innovative, chemically resistant, and highly durable membrane chemistry with applications spanning industrial wastewater treatment, resource recovery, pre-treatment for desalination, and chemical separation.

Memsift says that the commercial availability of Gosep membranes is expected to significantly reduce operational costs and enhance efficiency for industries seeking sustainable water treatment solutions, including microelectronics, textiles, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals.

The newly established manufacturing facility has an annual production capacity of 1,200,000 m² of membranes – equivalent to 2,000 industrial-scale membrane modules per month.

Dr J Antony Prince, founder and CEO of Memsift Innovations, said: “Under the trusted Murugappa Group brand, supported by an extensive distribution network and a highly skilled team in technical, marketing, sales, and service, I am confident this initiative will create a transformational impact in the membrane and water industry over the next 3–5 years.”

Rashmi Ranjan Mohapatra, Business Head of Murugappa Membrane, added: “This membrane is a testament to Make in India—made for India, and of course, invented by an Indian. This is a milestone we will cherish for a long time.”
