Clean technology company LiqTech International Inc has appointed Mark Vernon as chairman of the board of directors, succeeding Aldo Petersen who is retiring from the board.
Petersen has served as LiqTech chairman since August 2011.
Vernon joined LiqTech’s board of directors in May 2013 and has been serving as the chairman of the Compensation, Nominating and Governance Committees, as well as a member of the Audit Committee.
Vernon retired from the UK’s Spirax-Sarco Engineering plc in January 2014, where he served as CEO and as a member of the board since August 2007. Prior to joining Spirax-Sarco in 2003, Vernon held various senior executive roles in Flowserve Corp, Durco International and Valtek International. He was also a founding partner and managing principal of NightWatch Capital.
Commenting on Vernon’s appointment as chairman, LiqTech CEO Mr. Mathiesen said: “I would like to thank Aldo for his contributions to the company and his steady guidance in supporting the transition of the business from a component supplier to an integrated systems supplier. I look forward to working with Mark to profitably grow the company’s important filtration business and to strengthen our market position as the leading global supplier of silicon-carbide membranes and systems.”
