Donaldson’s new PowerCoreEdge is a compact, high-efficiency engine air cleaner for use in heavy dust environments, designed to fit into tight under-hood spaces in off-road equipment.
With the smallest footprint in the PowerCore filter line, PowerCore Edge offers front-service access for filter changes, a seal design with heat tolerance up to 100° C and fits vertically or horizontally into tight engine compartments.
PowerCore Edge air cleaners are smaller because of Donaldson’s PowerCore G3 media pack, which delivers the filtration capability of a conventional pleated air filter in 65% less space and offers simpler maintenance. In a multi-stage air cleaner, an integrated pre-cleaner removes the heaviest dust before it can reach the primary filter. Pre-cleaners can clog in the most extreme off-road conditions, so Donaldson designed the pre-cleaner on the PowerCore Edge to separate into two pieces to allow for fast and straightforward cleaning.
Al Hovda, general manager of Donaldson Engine Air Systems, said that the PowerCore Edge is a response to less under-hood space and higher under-hood temperatures, while still delivering the high dust-holding capacity and filter life of PowerCore filters.
