The Emerging Innovator Award recognizes an individual who has created and implemented significant process technology and product improvements for manufacturing operations. This year’s winner is Kyle Sontag, principal engineer, Advanced Research and Development.
The Frank A. Donaldson Award, named after Donaldson’s founder, is presented to an individual for outstanding, long-term engineering achievements. This year’s winner is Derek Jones, principal engineer, Media Technology.
The Richard M. Negri Manufacturing Excellence Award, named for a past vice president of operations whose many contributions greatly advanced Donaldson’s global operations, goes to an individual who has created and implemented significant process technology and product improvements for manufacturing operations. This year’s winner is Jaromír Škapa, manufacturing project manager, European Manufacturing Technologies.
The Technology Achievement Award recognizes a material, product, process or method that has made an extraordinary contribution to Donaldson’s long-term success. This year’s award winner is the Fuel-Water Separation technology, which is due to the collective efforts of 12 employees across several teams: Scott Betcher, Andrew Dallas, Brad Hauser, Paul Hennen, Derek Jones, Vijay Kapoor, Davis Moravec, Aflal Rahmathullah, Ken Skaja, Kyle Sontag, Gwen Stouthuysen and Brian Tucker.
“Our global engineering, technology and operations teams develop the innovative solutions and sophisticated technologies that help Donaldson fulfill our purpose of Advancing Filtration for a Cleaner World,” said Michael Wynblatt, Donaldson vice president and chief technology officer. “In 2021, nearly 400 patents were issued to Donaldson. Our patent holders and inventor awardees are vital to our continued leadership in filtration. This event provides us with the opportunity to recognize their significant achievements and contributions.”
