Curtiss-Wright acquires Cimarron Energy

Cimarron manufactures customised and engineered energy production, processing and environmental solutions, including separators, for the US oil and gas industry. The business will become part of Curtiss-Wright's Flow Control segment.

The acquisition allows Curtiss-Wright to diversify into the high growth shale oil and gas market.

“With the acquisition of Cimarron, Curtiss-Wright is diversifying from our current downstream refining segment into the emerging, high growth US shale oil and gas market in the upstream and midstream segments of the industry,” said Martin Benante, Curtiss-Wright chairman and CEO.

Founded in 1976, Cimarron’s energy production and processing equipment includes separators, combination separator/hydrator units, flow back and oil treating equipment. Cimarron also manufactures environmental solutions that control toxic well site emissions, provide improved equipment energy efficiency and enable remote monitoring of equipment functions.

Headquartered in Norman, Oklahoma, Cimarron has 368 employees. The company is expecting sales of approximately US$124 million in 2012.
