The new Shanghai office will serve as a strategic hub to support Camfil’s local teams and provide even stronger service to customers throughout mainland China. It enhances the company’s presence in one of its most important markets, enabling faster response times, localized expertise, and closer customer partnerships.
At the Taicang facility, more than 2,000 rooftop photovoltaic panels have been installed. This system is expected to generate approximately 1.4 million kilowatt-hours of clean electricity annually – covering nearly 30% of the plant’s total energy needs and reducing over 1,000 tons of CO₂ emissions each year. Combined with green electricity sourced from the grid, Taicang’s overall green power usage now stands at approximately 90%, marking a major achievement in Camfil’s global sustainability roadmap.
“This is part of our ongoing work to reduce environmental impact not just in our own operations, but across the entire value chain,” said Mark Simmons, Camfil Group CEO. “Cleaner production helps our customers lower their own carbon footprint and supports transparency through Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs).”
EPDs have recently become a major topic of interest in the APAC region, with growing demand for verified environmental performance across industries. In response to this trend, Camfil has launched its very first EPD-certified air filter in Asia – marking a significant step in sustainable product innovation for the region.
