Garwood and Jones are both partners of Liberation Capital, a global private equity fund specialising in project finance for renewable energy and water solutions, which they founded in 2010, having worked together at GE Water & Process Technologies. They join the Board following Bluewater Bio’s recent successful US$36 million financing round and six months since investing US$8 million in Bluewater Bio.
Garwood has expertise from the water and infrastructure sectors, having served as the former president and CEO of GE Water & Process Technologies. He has been a consultant, adviser and financier of several growth companies in the clean-tech arena, helping numerous firms map their strategic plans, develop targeted action plans and deliver customer value. Garwood also served as the president of GE Fanuc Industrial Automation, the president of Garrett Aviation, and senior executive at GE Plastics.
Prior to joining Liberation, Jones spent eight years at the General Electric Company, and among other leadership roles he served as the global commercial leader for GE Water & Process Technologies, where he focused on solving some of the world’s most pressing water challenges.
“Liberation Capital has already shown considerable faith in Bluewater Bio, its business model and technologies,” said Daniel Ishag, CEO of Bluewater Bio.” The appointment of Jeff and Earl will help to further develop our market leading expertise in the sector, bringing valuable experience of the political, strategic and operational context in this complex, yet rewarding industry.”
