The water treatment plant will be designed to treat up to 4,000 cubic meters of water per day when it begins operating on spring 2010. The mine’s water treatment plant will use BioteQ's sulphide treatment process to meet extremely low concentrations of metals in the treated water which is discharged into the environment.

Brad Marchant, BioteQ's chief executive officer said: “We are pleased to be working with our new customer, Minto Explorations, and adding to our portfolio of water treatment projects in the mining sector. This contract will generate incremental revenue without impacting our capital reserves, and enables us to expand our operating footprint in Canada.”

The sulphide treatment process is expected to deliver lower life cycle costs for water treatment compared to alternative processes and operates to ISO 14001 standards for environmental compliance.
