“We are delighted to welcome Garrett Bergquist back to BHS,” said Dennis Kemmann, CEO of the BHS-Sonthofen group of companies. “Garrett's extensive background in chemical engineering and his profound understanding of the industry make him the ideal leader for our team in North America.”

Bergquist rejoins BHS-Sonthofen with a wealth of experience and a proven track record in the engineering and filtration industries to his new post. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of South Carolina. He began his career as a Process Engineer at Celgard LLC. Bergquist originally joined BHS-Sonthofen Inc in 2014, where he initially focused on laboratory and pilot-scale testing as a process engineer. His role evolved to encompass filtration equipment selection, sizing, scale-up, commissioning, and troubleshooting. By the time he left BHS-Sonthofen in 2021, he was sales engineer for the Process Division.

In between his tenures at BHS-Sonthofen, Bergquist served as the director of Sales and Business Development at Steri Technologies, a Long Island, New York-based manufacturer of batch filtration equipment. While there, his work earned him a nomination and election to the American Filtration Society Scientific Committee in 2023.

Reflecting on his decision to return to BHS-Sonthofen, Bergquist said: ”As a cutting-edge equipment manufacturer, BHS provides expert knowledge that allows us to push the boundaries of equipment application to meet new and exciting market demands. With the emerging markets in battery material production and recycling, as well as green initiatives surrounding the circular economy of plastics, we are well-positioned to meet the new requirements of the Green Chemistry Revolution. When I was offered the chance to return to BHS in a leadership role, I was excited to rejoin a company that is poised to be at the forefront of these important industry developments.”
