Andritz has successfully started up eight new PrimeFilter D disc filters at Malaysia Lee & Man Paper Manufacturing Ltd in Selangor Darul Ehsan, Malaysia.

Malaysia Lee & Man Paper has ordered 15 PrimeFilter D disc filters for their four kraft paper production lines, applied as stock thickener and saveall disc filters in the white-water system of the PM water loops. Start-up of the remaining seven machines is planned by the end of this year.

“The new PrimeFilter D disc filters are able to handle higher-freeness pulp at our mill, which is especially important for kraft liner stock preparation,” said Chen Liming, project director, Malaysia Lee & Man Paper. “In parallel, the CC Bagless sectors used enable excellent operation in terms of fiber mat build-up as well as fiber mat knock-off, and we also expect a significantly reduced maintenance effort. The two-level shaft sealing is easily accessible and combines superior filtrate quality with highest reliability. This is a convincing package that will help us to run our production very efficiently in the long term.”

Malaysia Lee & Man Paper Manufacturing has four wet pulp production lines and four paper production lines, with an annual capacity of 300 000 tons of packaging paper.
