Alfa Laval has opened an Innovation & Test centre for decanters in Søborg, northwest of Copenhagen, Denmark, to strengthen the company’s global position within food and water.
The new Innovation & Test centre will develop, test and optimize decanters and be a global knowledge hub for food and water applications, two important growth areas for Alfa Laval. It will also focus on digital solutions for decanters and using collected data in future R&D work.
The centre is located at Alfa Laval’s site in Søborg and initially covers an area of 2000 sq m. Alfa Laval decided two years ago to turn the former decanter manufacturing site in Søborg into a global competence center for food and water applications.
“Today, our customers are facing different challenges; some require industrial processes to maximize the yield while minimizing the use of natural resources, others are looking for ways to refine bi-products or waste into valuable products,” explained Nish Patel, president of Alfa Laval’s Food & Water Division. “By gathering our product and application experts for food and water at one location here in Denmark we strengthen our capabilities to develop sustainable solutions which meet our customers’ current and future needs.”
