Purification Solutions is the former Norit NV business that Cabot acquired last July. von Gottberg succeeds Ronald Thompson, who has decided to leave Cabot to pursue other interests.

von Gottberg joined Cabot in 1997, serving most recently as senior vice president and president of the Advanced Technologies Segment – New Business Group.
