New chemically resistant protective cabinet for phosphate removal

An increase in the phosphorus content in standing and slowly flowing waters can lead to excessive growth of algae. In extreme cases, this leads to oxygen depletion in waters and thereby to fish and plant death. Wastewater treatment plants prevent this process as required, by eliminating the phosphate in a chemical precipitation process, which requires a reliable dosing station.

Alltech says that its protective cabinet is UV resistant and suitable for outdoor installation. Heating, lighting and ventilation are included within the cabinet. Chemicals drip pan at the bottom of the protective cabinet has a grating insert, which has anti-slip properties and can be easily removed for cleaning purposes. The electrical installation is located in the space between the walls of the protective cabinet.

The standard version of the cabinet is equipped with FKM three piston diaphragm dosing pumps, with accessories adapted to the specific operating conditions. All elements of the door are corrosion resistant and it has a depth of at least 1000 mm.

Safety requirements

"In terms of security, our systems are exemplary,” claimed N Koch, head of construction at Alltech dosing GmbH. “Proven monitoring devices – such as a level gauge, overfill protection, leak detector and alarm detector, support grid, overpressure protection – in the storage tanks and collecting basin as well as monitoring devices in the dosing pumps and pipes guarantee high safety."
