The PHP100 million water filtration plant, at Tinigaw Pumping Station on the island of Panay, has been in operation since May 2015. It is equipped with 10 ULTRA-FLO K-50-UA860 systems which includes 500 AQUADYN modules type UA860 and a total membrane area of 22 500 m2. The modules are operated with a constant flux rate of 50 LMH. Due to the modular design and complete automation, it is possible to quickly adjust the number of modules in operation to match the actual water demand of up to 10 000 m3/day.

Datem Water, a subsidiary of the construction firm Datem Inc, was established in 2013 to serve communities which still rely on deep wells without access to clean surface water.

“This is just the beginning of similar projects,” said Joseph Mendoza, Microdyn-Nadir’s responsible country manager. “The system offers a 50% smaller footprint compared to conventional coagulation, flocculation and sand filters and optimizes operational expenses due to reduced energy consumption.”
