1. Grundfos posts record turnover for 2017
Grundfos reported a record turnover of DKK25 634 million in the 2017 financial year.
2. Ebara opens new pump manufacturing plant in Italy
Ebara Pumps Europe SpA moved pump production from Brendola, in northern Italy, to a new, larger facility in the nearby town of Gambellara.
3. Xylem opens new facility in Warsaw
Xylem Inc opened a new 1100 sq m commercial facility in Warsaw as part of the water technology company’s ongoing investment in Poland.
4. Wärtsilä divests its pumps business
Wärtsilä Corp divested its pumps business to the Scandinavian investment company Solix Group. Headquartered in Aalborg, Denmark, Wärtsilä Pumps designs, manufactures and markets niche pumps, primarily deepwell and in-line pumps, for the marine and oil & gas industries. Brands include Svanehøj, Hamworthy Pumps, Eureka and Dolphin.
5. Grundfos pumps play key role at World Cup stadiums
The 2018 Fifa World Cup kicked off in Russia with 736 players from 32 nations and almost 850 Grundfos pump units.
6. Sulzer celebrates 70 years in Brazil
Sulzer started operations in Brazil 70 years ago with its first manufacturing site in São Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo.
7. Simmons Pump acquires Simflo Pumps
Texas-based Simmons Pump LLC and Arizona’s Simflo Pumps Inc merged, creating a new combined company that will be headquartered in Lubbock, Texas and operate under the Simflo name and brand.
8. Terrestrial Energy awarded DOE funding to develop next-generation molten salt pump
Terrestrial Energy USA secured US$3.15 million in funding from the US Department of Energy’s Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) to develop a next-generation molten salt pump for use in its Integral Molten Salt Reactors (IMSR®) and other Generation IV advanced reactors.
9. Xylem partners with Manchester City Football Club on water technology
Xylem Inc entered into a global multi-year partnership with English Premier League Champions Manchester City to become the football club’s official water technology partner. Through the partnership, Xylem aims to raise awareness about global water challenges and solutions. Xylem will also work with the club on Xylem Watermark projects, such as building water towers in communities around the world without access to clean water.
10. Grundfos forms digital partnership with Augury
Grundfos is partnering with AI-based mechanical diagnostics provider Augury to bring continuous diagnostics to the Danish pump company’s current and future customers as well as co-developing smart diagnostics capabilities in future products.
