IWA World Water Congress 2016 to focus on sustainable solutions

The IWA World Water Congress & Exhibition brings together more than 5,500 water, environment and related professionals from more than 100 countries and this year they will all be focusing on how they can rise to the challenge of the SDGs and use them to mobilize governments and businesses.

The four days of the Congress and Exhibition will offer new insights into how pioneering science, technological innovation and leading practices will shape the major transformation in water management that is underway. The spotlight will be on finding sustainable solutions to water scarcity as well as how we deliver the water-centered cities of the future; resource and energy recovery; water quality, safety and human health and water and wastewater treatment and processes.

All of these things will be at the forefront of discussion on Monday 10th October during the first day of the Congress & Exhibition. The opening keynote speaker of the day will be John Thwaites with The Sustainable Development Goals, Too Good an Opportunity to Miss? Closing the day’s proceedings will be Barbara Frost with Ending Extreme Poverty, What Do the SDGs Mean for Access to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene?
