Inversand launches Greensand Plus

GreensandPlus from The Inversand Company can remove removes iron, manganese, arsenic, radium and hydrogen sulphide from municipal, industrial and point-of-use water supplies. It can also be used to pre-treat membrane systems. It has the same size, uniformity coefficient, density, weight, capacity backwash and pressure drop curves as Manganese Greensand but also uses a silica sand core substrate, with the manganese dioxide coating fused to the core. In contrast, Manganese Greensand has a glauconite core, with the coating ionically bound to it. The GreensandPlus silica sand core enables the system to better withstand operating conditions in waters that are low in silica, dissolved solids and total hardness. With GreensandPlus, therefore, an aluminate feed becomes unnecessary.

GreensandPlus can also be used at higher operating temperatures (over 21°C/70°F) and higher differential pressures than ordinary Manganese Greensand. Tolerance for higher differential pressures can provide for longer run times between backwashes and a greater margin of safety. The harder GreensandPlus material is more resistant to breakdown and lowers iron and manganese to µg/L levels.

GreensandPlus is available in super sacks of 1 metric ton (2205 lbs) bulk or 20 kg (44 lbs) bags on pallets.
