The company has also commited at least US$50 million in R&D investment over the next five years to further develop technologies to improve the world’s water.
Evoqua’s membrane filtration and other technologies currently treat more than 2.5 billion gallons of water per day for water reuse and reclamation, helping to reduce the demand on potable water sources. The US company says that it will expand the development and adoption of its technologies, including its new Nexed electrochemical desalination modules and other filtration technologies in its portfolio.
The commitment was made as part of Evoqua’s participation in the White House Water Summit held in conjunction with the United Nations’ World Water Day on 22 March 2016.
“Evoqua’s purpose – ‘We Transform Water and Enrich Lives’ -- is really what the White House Water Summit is all about,” said Evoqua CEO Ron Keating. “Our commitment to double the amount of water we will help treat as part of reuse and reclamation efforts across the US is an ambitious, but worthy, goal. And one that we gladly accept.”
