DuPont Water Solutions was overall winner of the Technology award at the recent WEX Global Awards in Barcelona, where the company was also shortlisted for five out of a total of 10 categories.
Mark Barker, CEO of WEX, said the judges were particularly impressed by the DuPont Water Solutions’ OxyMem drop-in MABR modules that enhance the capacity of wastewater treatment plants by helping operators cope with fluctuating process loads without having to expand the plant.
The MABR delivers oxygen to the established biofilm via the millions of gas permeable membrane tubes; a mechanism capable of saving ~75% energy consumption over traditional bubble aeration.
The upgrade enhances effluent quality and treatment capacity without the need for civil works or constant operator intervention. There is zero risk to the existing process as it is not changed in any way. OxyMem also improves sludge settlement and generates less waste biosolids, reducing removal costs from site.
The judges further recognised DuPont Water Solutions by shortlisting the company in Process Technology, Water and Wastewater Management, Infrastructure, Finance/Partnerships and Desalination categories.
