The MultiCyclone is a pre-filtration device designed to capture up to 80% of the incoming dirt load prior to the main filter, which then reduces filter maintenance and saves backwash water in addition to improving pool water circulation.
The MultiCyclone 70XL has been specially created to handle larger water capacities for commercial and industrial sectors. It can handle 1600 litres per minute.
The commercial device was launched following a huge demand for installing combined domestic MultiCyclone units in commercial swimming pools and aquatic enclosures, highlighting the need for a more powerful solution for commercial applications.
Centrifugal process
The unit works on the basis of centrifugal water filtration. Incoming water is guided by a diverter plate so that it enters multiple hydro cyclones tangentially, generating a strong centrifugal effect. This spins the sediment out to the hydro cyclone’s wall and then spirals it down to the sediment chamber, while the cleansed water spirals upwards.
By pre-filtering up to 80% of the filter’s incoming dirt load prior to the main filter, the MultiCyclone 70XL is able to decrease the load on the filter, reducing the frequency of filter maintenance by up to 80% and saving backwash water. As the MultiCyclone intercepts more and more sediment, the flow rate remains unchanged, improving pool water circulation.
