The PUREair barrier filters have been designed using synthetic dry media technology that virtually eliminates the maintenance associated with conventional oil-wetted EIBFs. The Pall Aerospace PUREair barrier filter is cleaned with water only, and is ready for re-use in minutes.
“Pall Aerospace specifically developed this innovative technology to meet all of the US Army’s and Sikorsky's performance and protection requirements,” said Thomas Lambert, director of sales, military and rotary wing at Pall Aerospace. “When installed on the Black Hawk, the PUREair barrier filters result in a weight savings of 14 lbs over the conventional system.”
The Pall Aerospace PUREair barrier filter element was qualified for the Black Hawk in 2009 and underwent extensive testing to prove its durability, reliability, and performance, and is now globally certified for use on BLACK HAWK helicopters utilizing the EIBF system.
