The first order is for steam separators to be installed at a nuclear power project in China. These units will be manufactured at PMFG’s facility in Zhenjiang, China, with delivery scheduled for autumn 2013.
The second order relates to the previously announced contract award by the US Navy’s Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD) to provide the air inlet moisture separation/filtration systems to replace the existing systems on the Arleigh Burke (DDG 51) class. The five-year, multiple-award, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity firm-fixed-price contract could have a potential value of US$13.7 million, if all options are exercised.
PMFG CEO Peter Burlage said: “This order for steam separators represents an important step forward in restarting nuclear power plant construction projects halted in China following the events in Fukushima, Japan. We are in the process of expanding our manufacturing capacity in China to meet the anticipated demand for nuclear steam separators locally. We also are preparing for the expected demand for replacement dryers due to the re-commissioning of nuclear power plants in the US and France. We expect that new nuclear power plant construction, life extension and upgrading will continue to be an important contributor to our business in future periods."
