The Automotive Original Equipment Division in Ludwigsburg is about to undergo a major restructure of the plant and the business unit functions. Mann+Hummel currently employs 1800 people in Ludwigsburg.
Earlier this year, Mann+Hummel responded to the sales crisis with a series of short-term measures, including short-time working, budget cuts and reductions in the number of contract and temporary personnel.
Dr Dieter Seipler, CEO of Mann+Hummel, said: “We need to reduce overcapacities, lower our costs on a long-term basis, and at the same time gear ourselves to new customer requirements. We definitely want to keep production in Ludwigsburg – but that can only be achieved if we focus systematically on the new conditions and keep pace with our competitors.”
