The new facility will double FilterSafe’s production capacity, enabling the company to produce 1500 Ballast Water Treatment (BWT) filters per annum in its Israeli and Hong Kong plants.
About half of the new centre’s floor space will be used for assembly and workshop functions, while the other half will house research, the regional office and sales and marketing.
Filtersafe will work closely with Yui Lian Dockyards Ltd & Yui Lian Dockyards (Shekou) Ltd, which operate six docks at Yui Lian and provide a range of maritime repair and maintenance services.
“Our new Filtersafe centre will significantly increase the range of services offered at Yui Lian, increasing its attractiveness to ship owners and operators,” said Ares Ho, Filtersafe Asia Pacific manager.
Filtersafe specializes in the development and supply of automatic self-cleaning filtration systems for ballast water used in the shipping of oil and gas and other industrial applications.
