Glycated hemoglobin analyser uses HPLC

The compact HLC-723GX is and offers measurement and separation through the use of the high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method. In 2010, the Japan Diabetes Society adopted HbA1c as the official standard for diagnosing diabetes mellitus. It is important indicator for diagnosing diabetes and for supporting treatment to control blood sugar levels. This new analyser follows the launch of the HLC-723G9 analyser in June 2010 and can be used in small and medium-sized medical and such specialist facilities as diabetes clinics.

The HLC-723GX isolates abnormal hemoglobin (HbS, HbC, and HbD) that obstruct correct readings in the column, helping ensure accurate HbA1c reporting. It also features an embedded automated sample loader and an individual test time of 2.2 minutes. Tosoh is issuing the analyser’s reagents and other measurement consumables in kit form.

Tosoh’s plan is to expand sales of the analyser to markets in Europe, North America, and Asia, especially in high-growth China.
