Dow explores chlorine dioxide limits

Dow's new video is the third in a series about the importance of biocides in hydraulic fracturing operations.

Dow Microbial Control has released the third video in its new series which highlights the limitations of this increasingly-used biocide and the consequences of relying on chlorine dioxide alone for protection from microbes.

Hydraulic fracturing operations which rely solely on chlorine dioxide leave much of their operation unprotected and at risk of biofouling, corrosion and souring. This is because chlorine dioxide is a fast acting biocide, meaning it will not continue killing microbes beyond the first few minutes topside.

Dow Microbial Control’s new video explores the limitation of chlorine dioxide, and explains why a tailored microbial control programme is key for any successful operation.

The three videos are all available on YouTube. The latest video is also available here.
